The Schönbrunn Marionette Theatre’s first tour to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia made a big splash among the audience of the Dhahran’s King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture. Five shows of W. A. Mozart’s most famous opera “The Magic Flute“ adapted for children were performed there from 4 to 6 April. The response of local and expat families alike was overwhelming, some of whom experienced a marionette performance and Mozart’s music for the very first time. After the shows, the children raced backstage to meet the artists who introduced each single puppet, explaining its operating mode and manufacturing, and answering the children’s eager questions.
Rieder Art Consulting wishes to cordially thank the artistic director of the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture Mr. Elie Karam for the excellent cooperation and great hospitality. The company’s director Mr. Werner Hirzer and his team were great partners whom we hope to work with on further occasions. Finally, we would like to express our gratitude to the event company Filmmaster MEA for its high professionalism and expertise it lent to the tour’s successful implementation. Rieder Art Consulting looks forward to a fruitful continuation of its first cooperation with the King Abdulaziz Center of World Culture.
